What requirments are there for me to represented by Hilton Head Nannies?
Requirements for All Applicants:
1. Genuine Love for Children:

You must genuinely love children and enjoy spending time with them.
2. Language and Legal Eligibility:
-
Fluency in English is required.
-
You must be legally employable in the United States.
3. Communication Tools:
-
A working smartphone and a frequently checked email address are essential.
4. Driving and Vehicle Requirements:
-
A good driving record and a dependable vehicle are mandatory.
5. Background Check:
-
You must pass an intensive background check conducted by a professional company. Hilton Head Nannies cannot work with individuals who have criminal convictions—no exceptions.
6. References:
-
A minimum of 9 references is required—no exceptions. These references must not be related to you and must provide outstanding feedback about you.
7. Skills Assessment:

All nannies must take and achieve a high score on a skills assessment.
8. CPR and First Aid Certification:
-
You must be Infant/Child/Adult CPR Certified and Basic First Aid Certified or be willing to obtain these certifications through pre-approved organizations.
9. Documentation:

Provide the required documentation to prove your identity.
10. Child Advocacy and Safety:
-
We seek nannies who have a genuine interest in children’s well-being, are child advocates, and understand child safety.
11. Application Quality:
-
Your application should be impressive, with thoughtful, thorough, and honest answers that set you apart from other applicants.
12. Work History:
-
A steady and excellent work history is important.
13. Team Fit:
-
We have an amazing team of Registered Nannies and are looking for individuals who are team-oriented, kind, welcoming, and loving.
14. Personal Attributes:
-
You must be energetic, positive, agreeable, motivated/a self-starter, and able to follow directives.
15. Punctuality and Dependability:
-
You must be very prompt and dependable. If you are often late or call out of shifts, we are not the right fit for you.
16. Communication and Customer Service:
-
Excellent communication skills, a customer service mindset, and a gift for Southern hospitality are crucial.
17. Child Engagement:
-
You must engage and play with the children, using age-appropriate activities, books, arts and crafts, toys, and games. TV and screen time are limited to parental instructions only.
18. Technology and Evaluation:
-
Hilton Head Nannies uses audio and video recording devices, with client permission, to evaluate nannies. Our nannies must agree to these evaluations, which can occur at any time without advance notice. This technology ensures child protection and validates the excellent job you do.
Additional Requirements Specific to the Babysitting Registry & On-Call Team:
1. Childcare Experience:

At least 3 years of childcare experience in settings such as in-home babysitting, daycare, preschool, schools, church nursery, summer camps, or volunteering with children’s programs.

Mothers with no paid experience but who have cared for their own children and can provide references will also be considered.
2. Age Requirement:
-
You must be at least 18 years of age.

Caregivers over the age of 22 are strongly preferred. Applicants aged 18-21 must have a strong employment history involving customer service, verifiable childcare references, and a proven track record of responsibility and reliability.
3. Appointment Commitment:
-
To remain on the registry, you must commit to accepting at least 6 appointments within the first six months of joining. After the first six months, you must accept at least 6 appointments per year.
Reqirements for Temporary & Summer Nannies
All of the above, plus the following:

Temporary Nannies must be willing to commit to the length of the position they accept (5 days to 75 days).

Summer Nannies must be willing to commit to the length of the position they accept (14 days to100 days).

Must take the American Red Cross "Water Safety for Parents and Caregivers" Course (Free Online)
Requirements for Permananet Placements:
All of the above, plus the following:

Five years of childcare experience or commensurate college education

Must be age 21 or older
-
Must be able to make a minimum one year commitment to a family

To obtain Elite Nanny Status, the following requirements must be met:

Must be a team player, actively contributing to the nanny team, and maintaining a positive demeanor.

Must have a good working relationship with the Hilton Head Nannies administrative staff.

Must serve as a good ambassador to the community on behalf of Hilton Head Nannies.
