Bring Your Dog to Hilton Head Island

Because Pets Are Family Too

Traveling to the Hilton Head Island area for vacation or business means your pet gets to come along too. Hilton Head Island is known for its white sandy beaches, bike paths under ancient oak trees, and our love for dogs! Our four-legged friends love it here just as much as we do. There are plenty of Island restaurants, accommodations, attractions and more that welcome your furry friend. When you have plans that cannot include your pet, Hilton Head Nannies can help! Our in-room pet sitting services give you flexibility to create your own schedule while you are here on vacation. We can take your pet on walks, enjoy playtime, provide regular feedings, administer medication and make sure that your pet receives a lot of love and attention so that you can enjoy your vacation. For more information about our pet sitting services, please call us at 843-227-3196.

Dogs on the Beach

Hilton Head Island's Beach Rules

Dogs are allowed on the beach on Hilton Head Island. The rules are as follows:

  • No dogs are permitted between 10 am and 5 pm from the Friday before Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Dog must be on a leash:

  • Between 10 am and 5 pm April 1 through Thursday before Memorial Day

  • Between 10 am and 5 pm Tuesday after Labor Day through September 30th

  • Dogs must be on a leash or under positive voice control at all other times.

Persons in control of animals on the beach are required to remove and properly dispose of the animal's excrement.

Properly registered service dogs are allowed on the beach. The dog will need to be properly leashed or harnessed, following the guidelines above.

Dog Park

Hilton Head Island has its own dog park. It is in the Chaplin Community Park, located just off of William Hilton Parkway between Singleton Beach Road and Burkes Beach Road. The park is completely fenced in and "double gated" so you will be able to let your dog off-leash as long as it's not aggressive towards people or other dogs.
