Traveling to the Lowcountry for a vacation or business sometimes means your pet gets to come along too. Hilton Head Island is known for its miles of white sandy beaches and bike paths under ancient oak trees. Our four-legged friends love it here just as much as humans do. However, Fido will not always be able to accompany you to area attractions or on day trips to places like Savannah, Beaufort, or Charleston.
Our in-room pet sitting service gives you flexibility to create your own schedule while you are here on vacation. Our professional pet sitters will provide one-on-one care in the comfort of your hotel room. We will take your pet on walks, enjoy playtime, provide regular feedings, administer medication and make sure that your pet receives a lot of love and attention so that you can enjoy your time out and about.

How old are your pet sitters?
We only accept sitters into our registry who are age 18 and older. When interviewing agencies to work with, be sure to check the ages of the caregivers they work with, as there are some agencies who send out sitters under the age of 18.
What background do your pet sitters have?
Our pet sitters are students, moms, grandmothers, teachers, nurses, college graduates, retired professionals, and career professionals who all have a genuine love for pets. They must have a strong love for animals and will treat your best friend with love, gentleness and affection.
Do your sitters take part in any training?
Yes! In order to obtain a spot on our registry, all of our sitters must be willing to go through orientation and training.
Will you send sitters to private/rental homes or condos too?
Yes! In fact, a large percentage of our client requests are for rental homes. We do request, for the protection of our sitters, rental information from you when you make your reservation such as who your property management company is and what your arrival and departure dates are.
Do I need advance reservations?
For in room pet-sitting, advance reservations are recommended. It is advisable to book your pet sitting reservation as soon as possible, but at least 2 weeks to 30 days in advance. However, we retain a large number of caregivers on call and, while we can't guarantee a last minute appointment, we make every effort to provide for last minute needs.
We can often have someone to you in as little as one hour’s time! So if you find yourself on the island in need of last minute pet sitting, please call. However, we suggest that if you know of a need in advance that you make reservations before you arrive to ensure availability.
How far in advance can I book reservations?
We are take reservations up to 12 months in advance.
Our professional caregivers will arrive at your room or rental unit wearing a Hilton Head Nannies and Companions photo identification badge. All of our caregivers are in uniform. We also ask our caregivers to show a government issued photo-ID upon arrival. You will always know the name of your caregiver in advance.
Upon the sitters arrival you will be asked to sign a release form authorizing us to seek medical attention for your pet if needed. The form provides a space to indicate whether or not it is okay for the sitter to take the pet out of the hotel room and/or off of the property (such as down to the beach for a walk).
What kind of pets will you care for?
Hilton Head Nannies & Companions provides care for dogs and cats primarily. Please call us to discuss other needs.
Will I be able to contact my sitter when he/she is with my pet?
You will! All sitters are required to have a working cell phone with them at all times. They can be reached via cell phone if they are outside with your pet or via the room/condo/home number if cell phone reception is poor inside.
If we book multiple appointments, can we have the same pet sitter each time?
We recognize that it is important for your pet to have the same sitter come when multiple appointments are booked. Therefore, it is our policy to always send the same sitter to you when you make multiple, advance reservations. While there may be some situations that are out of our control (no advance reservations, for example), we will always work with your pet's best interests at heart and strive to have the same sitter for your family's needs.

A $25 deposit is required by credit card to make a reservation for In-Room Pet Sitting Services. Cancellation Policy: The deposit is nonrefundable. While reservation deposits are nonrefundable, no further fees are charged to the credit card on file when at least 7 days (seven days) notice is provided for cancellations. Cancellations without 7 days notice, but with at least 4 days notice, are billable for 50% of the total reserved time. Cancellations with 72 hours or less notice are billable to the credit card on file for 100% of the reserved time including booking fees.
